Home of Misfits
Home of Misfits
A place to land. A place to exhale. A place to remember who you are.

🛋️ The Living Room

Where misfits gather, overthinkers roam free, and no one asks you to “just calm down.”

Welcome to the Living Room — the actual heart of the Home of Misfits.

This is where the real magic happens.
Not the polished, inspirational-poster kind.
The real-life, sometimes-messy, occasionally-hilarious, deeply-human kind.

This is a space for people who:

  • think in spirals instead of straight lines

  • feel everything (sometimes all at once)

  • ask big questions at inconvenient times

  • and have been told more than once to “tone it down” or “relax”

(We don’t do that here.)

☕ What it’s like in here

Picture this:
You show up as you are — tired, curious, hopeful, skeptical, caffeinated, under-caffeinated — and nobody flinches.

No pressure to be profound.
No expectation to be healed, enlightened, or “better.”
No toxic positivity.
And absolutely no “have you tried just thinking positive?”

Instead, you’ll find:

  • real conversations that meander a bit (on purpose)

  • people who get your humor and your intensity

  • space to talk, listen, ramble, or just exist quietly

  • kindness without condescension

Hope lives here.
So does sarcasm.
They get along surprisingly well.

😏 A quick vibe check (aka: read this before you rearrange the furniture)

This is not:

  • a debate club

  • a self-improvement bootcamp

  • a spiritual performance stage

  • a place to build your personal brand while calling it “connection”

  • a “buy my thing / join my thing / DM me for details” situation

  • a political battleground, campaign stop, or comment-section reenactment

  • a pulpit for religious preaching, converting, or saving souls

There are many places for all of that.
This just isn’t one of them.

Here, we’re more interested in:

  • curiosity over certainty

  • listening over lecturing

  • humanity over ideology

Conversations come before agendas.
People come before opinions.
Always.

🪑 How to join the Living Room (aka: how this actually works)

Two Living Rooms. One Community.

Home of Misfits has always been about creating a place where people can exhale.

A place where you don't have to perform, pretend, or polish yourself before you walk through the door.

As our community has grown, we realized something important:

Not every conversation belongs in the same room.

So now... we have two.

The Open Living Room is exactly what it sounds like. The front porch. The family room. The place where anyone can stop by, meet fellow misfits, discover new podcast episodes, join the conversation, and see what Home of Misfits is all about.

The Private Living Room is a little quieter.

It's where conversations can wander a little deeper, masks come off a little easier, and people know they're surrounded by others who value kindness over chaos and curiosity over certainty.

Neither space is better.

They're simply built for different kinds of conversations.

If you'd like to join the Private Living Room, just raise your hand. We'll make sure you're an actual human and not a troll, a spam account, or someone whose idea of community begins with, "Hello, I can help you 10x your business..."

Because... no.

We're protecting people, not profits.

Simple. Human. Gently curated.

The Open Living Room will always be open to anyone who shares the spirit of this community.

The Private Living Room may grow and evolve over time. We may add new features. We may tweak a few things as we learn what serves our members best.

Shift happens.

What won't change is the heart behind it.

This will always be a place where respectful disagreement is welcome, curiosity beats certainty, and kindness isn't considered a weakness.

A place where you don't have to have all the answers.

A place where it's perfectly acceptable to say, "I'm still figuring it out."

Because... aren't we all?

So pull up a chair.

Join whichever Living Room feels right for where you are today.

We'll save you a seat.

Refills welcome. Overthinking allowed. Pretending not required.

🏡 Final truth (because it matters)

This isn’t about fitting in.
It’s about finally realizing you don’t have to.

Welcome to the Living Room.
Yes — you belong here too.

🏡 So… what is this place, really?

It's still not a program.

Still not a sales pitch.

Still not a personality makeover.

(We checked. You're already wonderfully you.)

The Living Room is simply a place where conversations become connections... and strangers slowly become familiar faces.

It's where listening matters just as much as talking, where overthinking is gently invited to take a seat in the comfy chair, and where nobody expects you to have life all figured out before you walk through the door.

Some people jump right into the conversation.

Some people quietly soak it all in.

Some people lurk so professionally they deserve their own honorary coffee mug.

Honestly?

They all belong.

There isn't a right way to be here.

No pressure to post.

No expectation to perform.

No participation trophies... and definitely no performance reviews.

Just good humans showing up as they are.

With stories.

With questions.

With opinions.

With feelings.

And, every now and then, with a spectacularly dramatic sigh.

Coffee is optional.

Curiosity is encouraged.

A sense of humor helps.

Kindness, however, isn't optional.

Everything else?

We'll figure it out together.

😏 Still wondering?

No, you didn’t miss a step.
No, you’re not doing this wrong.
And yes — this really is just a place to be.

You can:

listen
sit
scroll
participate
disappear for a while
come back like nothing happened

Overthink it.

Underthink it.
Do your thing.

There’s no correct way to belong here.
(If there were, we’d have lost half the room already.)

If you’d like an occasional nudge, reminder, or friendly “hey, you’re not alone” in your inbox — cool.

We’re genuinely glad you found us.
And yes — you can stay.

Join the Living Room

This is where the misfits gather — to talk, listen, laugh, and remember we’re not alone.

🐿️ Secret Squirrel–curious, but not ready?

Totally fine. That’s a mood.

No rush.
No sudden life decisions.
No “now or never” energy.

Hang out in theOpen Living Room.
Lurk like a professional.
Decide later.

The quieter room will still be there.
So will we.
